This book was far different than my usual read, but I was pleasantly surprised by both the quality of the writing (good grammar, correct punctuation and even a word I wasn't familiar with!) and the authenticity and amazing detail of the story itself. I started reading it as an 'assignment' so I wasn't really invested in the story until suddenly I realized that I had lost track of time and was completely immersed in the story. There was a slight lull about 1/3 of the way into the book but it is well worth it to push through as it gets better and better through the rest of the book. If you have an older parent you are caring for, or will be caring for, you should read this book. The detail of feeling and emotion is truly amazing and might help explain many of the frustrations (on both sides) of the parent/grown child relationship.Product details

Wallpaper with Roses eBook Jenny Andersen Reviews
I thought this was a romance but that was my mistake. But it turned out to be a very good love story about family relationships. Although I had to wait for the romance it was worth it. You will enjoy this story.
Rising Star Reviews
I've read some of Jenny Anderson's work and have even met her in person. She is a phenomenal writer who puts a lot of effort and passion into her work. If you are not sure whether or not to purchase this book, then you absolutely should. The only way to get exposed to a new author is to give him or her a try. So, give this book a chance, and you won't regret it.
This is a sweet story about some of the realities when our parents age. Writer has a natural touch with dialogue and the characters are interesting. Scenes are vivid.
In today's world where parents live longer if not healthier lives elder care is an increasingly large problem. These families pull together with love and hope for the future to overcome this problem the best way they can, through love for each other.
A love story about two very different loves - one for a parent and one for a person of the opposite sex. Sarah's love for her ailing mother is the central theme of this well-written story, and the rewards of their close relationship are offset by the toll it takes on Sarah's personal life, including her developing relationship with Rob, who has issues of his own with his mother. This story speaks to any adult who is caught up in the challenges of caring for loved ones. About halfway through, I am thoroughly engrossed in this tale that speaks to so many is us.
I was moved by this beautiful story of a daughter facing her mother's physical decline.
For Sarah Gault, nothing feels safe anymore. One minute she is a single career woman about to pursue her dream of opening her own business ... and in the next, she finds herself giving up her independence to move back to her childhood home and care for her aging mother.
Sarah doesn't regret her decision, but that doesn't make it any easier to deal with the mountain of medical bills, the frustration of a flawed healthcare system, or the stark realities of watching her mother slide into dementia.
Add a pregnant teenager and two of her mother's elderly friends to the mix, and Sarah's life changes even more. But through the many challenges and setbacks, Sarah realizes that her life is richer because of it all, and while she may be an only child facing the loss of her remaining parent, she knows she isn't alone.
There is a lot of truth in this poignant tale and a great deal of love. A very moving read!
WALLPAPER WITH ROSES is women's fiction at its best. Sarah Gault is working at a dead-end job and dreams of running her own accounting buisness. But then her mother, Hilda, gets very sick and requires hospitalization, rehab and then home care. WALLPAPER WITH ROSES depicts the changes of role reversal between parent and child. Jenny Anderson does an outstanding job of the love, fear and guilt the child feels. The supporting characters of Hilda's friends, Sarah's mean boss and a budding love interest is written seamlessly. Readers who read books set in small towns will like this book. Also, ones who read about circles of women friends will enjoy it.
